Effects of protein levels of commercial diets on the growth performance and survival rate of rabbitfish (Siganus guttatus) at the nursing stage

This study aimed to determine the effect of a commercial diet's protein level on fry-to-fingerling stage. Thirty days-old fries having initial length and weight 18.25 ± 0.15 mm fish-1 0.036 0.50 g respectively have been used in this study. Diet three levels i.e. 30% (trial 1 as control), 35% 2), 40% 3), 45% 4), respectively, evaluate protein, each trial has repeated times. During study, stocking density was allocated 1000 fish per composite tank with volume m3. After 30 days rearing, fingerlings reached up 1.50 0.02 it recorded 1.52 0.01g for 2, these two were lower than that trials 3 4, where fingerling reported 1.69 0.01 1.58g obtained best compared others. The at end experimental period also changed different 47.12; 46.92; 50.97; 48.89 trail 1, 3, 4 among tested combinations 2 (35% CP), but is not significantly significant difference (P < 0.05) 4. survival rate ranged from 67.27 72.33%. Meanwhile, herd distribution coefficient variation (CVW) treatment using 3) highest 72.33% (p 0.05). results can be concluded various growth parameters fingerlings.
